Born to Fly : Aerial Maneuver Planning & Problem Solving
As a previsualization artist on the film we were tasked with planning, choregraphing and visualizing a major action training sequence. The two aircraft were to be traveling at high speed through a canyon and would engage in mock combat. During previz I proposed that we should plan the aerial engagements in diagrams since the client called out specific maneuvers they wanted to see per shot.
Aviation and more specificly Fighter Jets are a huge interest of mine and as a result I have quite a bit of good bit of knowledge that I could use to inform the coordination of each requested maneuver and create cohesive flight paths.
The two left diagrams illustrate a problem I uncovered where the maneuver requested would put the hero aircraft ahead of his target but he needed to stay behind the target. The first diagram illustrates the problem and the second diagram illustrates a proposed solution keeping with aircraft capabilites.
Alien Descent : Animation Tree Planning for QueeN
I was hired as the Animation Supervisor to add the Queen Alien to the Alien Descent Location Based, Free-Roaming VR Experience. I’ve included some images of the location, external VR setup and the VR view inside the game as well as a Planning document I created for our tiny team of four animators, one rigger and one tech dev, to map out all of the actions we needed for the queen as well as their connected relationships.
