Character Design
Little Alien
My primary character who is quite a curious little fellow, always trying new thing and just out to have fun and explore his world.
Alien Pet
The character was designed as a companion to my little alien character. They come from a planet where all lifeforms share a similar facial appearance but very distinct body diferences and intelligence levels.
Captain
As I’m sure you will discover exploring my site, I have a huge love of Pirates…
This is my crew’s Capatain. I am developing these characters for a pirate based 3rd person adventure game that I’ve been wanting to make for quite some time.
Outcast
Another of my pirate crew, this is the outcast, he spends most of his time up in the crows nest to avoid the rest of the crews constant badgering. Since he is one of the skinniest members of the crew he is constantly getting made fun of which has resulted in quite the attitude but he’s mostly all bark and no bite. His vision isn’t quite up to snuff but that’s why you will always see him with his trusty looking glass.
Charicatures
Some charicatures of friends of mine mostly just to experiment with different styles based on their personalities.
Cowboy Calhooty
The client wanted to develop a friendly cowboy character who would interact with special needs children through song and story. He would also be joined by his Basethound who plays a harmonica and his trusty steed. Below you can see some of the earlier style explorations and notes from the client used to arrive at his final design.
Wired Guy
Wired was a mock soda commercial I designed way back when that was poking a bit at the then Mountain Dew commercials that were all about extreme sports. He’s a bit extreme himself and I really hope to revisit him soon to refine his crazy design.
Robot Girl
From the day I saw my first Sorayama Illustration I was hooked on both his airbrush technique and his chrome characters and creatures. So I naturaly wanted to make my own attempt at some cool robot ladies but I also wanted to make my designs a bit more practical as if they could actually function and move. Since I’m also an animator it was inevitable I’d also do some more styalized and cartoony proportions.
Hover Bot
Hover Bot came out of an idea for an AR digital assistant I wanted to create. I still wanted to keep her fun and feminine but make her mode of transportation to fly around. She’s a little inspired from Rosey in The Jetsons, but with a bit more snark and spice.
